1. About these Terms

These Terms govern your use of PrediabetesBasket, including the public website, your account, the free introductory basket analysis and paid membership.

PrediabetesBasket is operated by:

Jeremy Fuller trading as PrediabetesBasket

Business correspondence address:

32 John Spare Court
Whitefield Road
Tunbridge Wells

United Kingdom

Business correspondence address only. PrediabetesBasket does not provide services to visitors at this address.

General enquiries:
email@emailsforprediabetesbasket.co.uk

By creating an account or purchasing a membership, you agree to these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.

2. What PrediabetesBasket is

PrediabetesBasket is an independent educational food-shopping guidance service.

It helps eligible users understand aspects of their supermarket shopping by providing educational information which may include:

  • a Basket Score
  • Green, Amber and Red guidance
  • positive aspects of the basket
  • products that may be worth considering
  • practical swap suggestions
  • ideas for a future shop
  • comparisons with recent analysed baskets

PrediabetesBasket is not a healthcare provider.

3. Educational service — not medical advice

PrediabetesBasket provides educational guidance only.

It does not:

  • diagnose prediabetes
  • diagnose any medical condition
  • measure blood sugar
  • monitor glucose
  • treat prediabetes
  • prevent diabetes
  • reverse prediabetes
  • prescribe a medical diet
  • provide individual medical treatment
  • provide emergency medical assistance
  • replace a GP, registered dietitian or other healthcare professional

Do not use PrediabetesBasket as the sole basis for making a healthcare or treatment decision.

4. Eligibility

To use the personalised service you must:

  • be aged 18 or over
  • provide accurate account information
  • provide accurate onboarding and eligibility information
  • satisfy applicable service eligibility and safety requirements
  • use receipts or orders that you are entitled to submit
  • keep your account credentials secure
  • use the service lawfully

PrediabetesBasket is currently designed for eligible UK users.

5. Supported supermarket documents

PrediabetesBasket currently supports eligible online supermarket receipts or order confirmations from:

  • Tesco
  • Sainsbury’s
  • Asda
  • Ocado

More supermarkets may be added in future.

Online supermarket receipts and orders only are currently supported.

Paper receipts and receipt photographs are not supported.

Not every forwarded document or product is guaranteed to process successfully.

Processing may be affected by:

  • changes to supermarket email or receipt formats
  • incomplete product information
  • information that cannot be reliably interpreted
  • technical problems
  • unsupported products or documents
  • third-party service interruptions

Supported supermarkets and document formats may change as the service develops.

6. Free introductory basket analysis

Eligible new users may receive one free introductory basket analysis.

The free introductory basket analysis is a simpler and less detailed introduction to the service than the paid Basket Review.

Its purpose is to allow an eligible user to see how PrediabetesBasket works with their own supermarket shop before deciding whether paid membership is right for them.

The free introductory basket analysis is normally limited to one per eligible user.

PrediabetesBasket may take reasonable steps to prevent abuse, including repeated account creation intended to obtain additional free analyses.

The free introductory analysis does not remove or reduce any statutory rights.

7. Paid membership

Paid membership is currently available at:

£7.99 per month

or

£59 per year

The applicable price and billing period will be shown before payment.

Paid membership provides the fuller, more detailed and personalised Basket Review.

Paid members may submit up to 3 eligible receipt analyses per week.

Paid features may include:

  • more detailed personalised educational analysis
  • Basket Scores
  • Green, Amber and Red guidance
  • practical swap suggestions
  • information about what went well
  • areas that may be worth considering
  • ideas for the next shop
  • recent-basket comparisons
  • use of the latest five analysed receipts as recent reference data

You do not need to have five previous receipts before receiving the detailed paid service.

The more detailed paid Basket Review begins with your first eligible paid basket.

8. Subscription renewal and payment

Paid memberships automatically renew according to the billing frequency selected at checkout unless cancelled before the next renewal.

Payments are processed by Stripe.

The price and renewal frequency will be shown before you complete your purchase.

PrediabetesBasket does not normally receive or store complete payment-card details where those details are processed directly by Stripe.

If a membership price changes, any notice required by applicable law will be provided before the new price applies.

9. Cancelling membership

“You can cancel your membership at any time through the Stripe-hosted billing portal available from your PrediabetesBasket account. Cancellation prevents the next automatic renewal. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, your membership will remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for and no refund is provided for unused time remaining in that period.”

Cancellation of a paid membership does not automatically require deletion of the customer’s PrediabetesBasket account.

10. Refund policy

“PrediabetesBasket does not normally provide discretionary refunds simply because you change your mind after purchasing membership. You can cancel your membership at any time to prevent the next renewal. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, your membership remains available until the end of the period already paid for and no pro-rata refund is provided for unused time.”

This does not limit any refund, price reduction, cancellation right or other remedy that applies under UK consumer law.

11. Statutory cancellation rights

Nothing in these Terms removes statutory cancellation rights that apply to you.

For distance contracts, a statutory cancellation period may apply under UK consumer law.

Where you have a statutory right to cancel a service contract, this may include a 14-day cancellation period.

Where you specifically request that your paid PrediabetesBasket membership starts during an applicable cancellation period, you may be required to pay for services already supplied before cancellation to the extent permitted by law.

The checkout process should separately obtain any request needed for the service to begin during the statutory cancellation period.

The purchase confirmation should provide the information required by applicable consumer law, including the price, billing frequency and cancellation information.

12. Immediate start of paid membership

Where applicable, the paid checkout should separately ask the customer to request immediate commencement of the service.

This is separate from accepting these Terms.

Do not display an immediate-start checkbox on this marketing-site Terms page.

The actual paid checkout/app process is responsible for obtaining the relevant affirmative request and keeping a record of it.

13. Future subscription-contract rules

The UK is introducing additional statutory rules for subscription contracts under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

These rules are expected to come into force in spring 2027, subject to implementation.

PrediabetesBasket will update its subscription practices where necessary when any new mandatory requirements become applicable, including requirements relating to pre-contract information, reminders, cooling-off rights, cancellation and refunds.

Do not state or imply that those future rules are already in force.

14. Receipt-analysis limits

Paid membership currently includes up to 3 eligible receipt analyses per week.

Only eligible successfully submitted supermarket documents fall within the service.

PrediabetesBasket may apply reasonable technical controls to enforce membership limits and prevent misuse.

Unused analysis allowances do not represent cash value.

15. Latest five analysed receipts

For the paid service, PrediabetesBasket uses the latest five analysed receipts as rolling recent reference data.

This allows future educational guidance to take recent shopping into account.

When another eligible analysed receipt moves the recent-reference set beyond five, the oldest receipt leaves that recent-reference set.

The latest-five feature:

  • is not medical monitoring
  • does not monitor blood glucose
  • does not mean you must wait for five receipts before receiving the paid service

Information retention is explained further in the Privacy Policy.

16. Preferences and personalisation

PrediabetesBasket may use preferences you provide to make educational suggestions more relevant.

These may include:

  • vegetarian
  • vegan
  • pescatarian
  • halal
  • kosher
  • no pork
  • no beef
  • dairy avoidance
  • foods you do not want suggested as swaps
  • other supported preferences

The service may not be able to account for every personal circumstance.

PrediabetesBasket is not an allergy-checking service and should not be relied upon to determine whether a product is safe for an allergy, intolerance or medical condition.

17. Automated and AI-assisted analysis

PrediabetesBasket uses automated technology, including AI-assisted processing, to help produce Basket Reviews.

Automated systems can make mistakes.

Results may be affected by:

  • incomplete product information
  • ambiguous supermarket descriptions
  • retailer format changes
  • incorrect or incomplete forwarded information
  • technical errors

Basket Reviews are educational and should be considered in that context.

18. Your responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • misuse the service
  • circumvent account or analysis limits
  • create repeated accounts to obtain additional free analyses
  • interfere with the operation or security of the service
  • reverse-engineer the service where prohibited by law
  • use the service unlawfully
  • submit information you are not entitled to use
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to another person’s account

You are responsible for keeping your login information reasonably secure.

19. Information contained in forwarded emails

You are responsible for ensuring that you are entitled to forward the online supermarket receipt or order confirmation you submit.

Forwarded retailer emails may contain information not required for food analysis.

You should avoid forwarding unnecessary additional personal or sensitive information where possible.

20. Service availability

PrediabetesBasket aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

The service may occasionally be unavailable because of:

  • maintenance
  • security work
  • third-party outages
  • network problems
  • supermarket format changes
  • software errors
  • events outside reasonable control

PrediabetesBasket may make reasonable changes necessary to maintain, secure or improve the service.

21. Changes to supported services

PrediabetesBasket may add or remove supported supermarkets, document formats or service features.

Where a material change affects an existing paid membership, appropriate notice will be provided where required by law.

22. Accuracy of guidance

PrediabetesBasket aims to provide useful educational information but does not guarantee that every product will be identified, classified or explained perfectly.

A Basket Review should not be treated as a statement that a particular product is medically suitable or unsuitable for you.

Individual nutritional and medical needs vary.

23. Intellectual property

The PrediabetesBasket name, branding, website content, application, software, original educational materials, design and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.

You may use your own Basket Reviews for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not copy, resell or commercially exploit PrediabetesBasket content or services without permission, except where applicable law allows it.

Public-sector information incorporated into PrediabetesBasket content remains subject to the relevant Open Government Licence terms where applicable.

24. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with the PrediabetesBasket Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains:

  • information that may be collected
  • purposes of processing
  • relevant lawful bases
  • special category information
  • automated analysis
  • service providers
  • retention
  • data-protection rights
  • security
  • international transfers

25. Third-party services

PrediabetesBasket relies on third-party technology and payment providers.

PrediabetesBasket is not responsible for an external provider’s independent service except to the extent responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in this section reduces any rights you have against PrediabetesBasket under applicable consumer law.

26. Suspension or restriction

PrediabetesBasket may reasonably suspend or restrict an account where necessary because of:

  • suspected fraud
  • security risk
  • attempted circumvention of service limits
  • unlawful use
  • serious or repeated breach of these Terms
  • misuse of the service

Where appropriate, PrediabetesBasket will explain the reason and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.

27. Closing your account

Cancelling paid membership prevents future renewal but does not necessarily delete your account.

If you wish to request deletion of your account or personal information, contact:

email@emailsforprediabetesbasket.co.uk

Account and data deletion is subject to information that PrediabetesBasket is required or permitted to retain under applicable law.

28. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes liability that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.

PrediabetesBasket is an educational service.

You should not rely on Basket Reviews as medical advice or as the sole basis for a healthcare decision.

To the extent permitted by law, PrediabetesBasket is not responsible for loss resulting from:

  • treating educational output as medical advice
  • inaccurate or incomplete information contained in a forwarded receipt
  • retailer-format changes outside reasonable control
  • third-party outages outside reasonable control
  • use of the service in breach of these Terms

These Terms do not affect your statutory rights.

29. Complaints and support

For problems with the service, your account, billing or a Basket Review, contact:

email@emailsforprediabetesbasket.co.uk

For general enquiries:

email@emailsforprediabetesbasket.co.uk

PrediabetesBasket will aim to deal with complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.

30. Your statutory rights

These Terms do not remove or restrict rights available to you under applicable UK consumer law.

If any provision of these Terms conflicts with a mandatory legal right, that mandatory legal right takes priority.

31. Changes to these Terms

PrediabetesBasket may update these Terms to reflect changes to:

  • the service
  • membership options
  • prices
  • technology providers
  • operational requirements
  • security requirements
  • law or regulation

The latest version and update date will appear on this page.

Where a material change affects an existing paid membership, any notice required by law will be provided.

32. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

Nothing in this clause removes any mandatory consumer protection available to you in the part of the United Kingdom where you live.

33. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

34. No waiver

If PrediabetesBasket does not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean the right to enforce it later has been waived.
